A busy night - page 2

Even a normally ever so tame Danish wood can be dangerous when some rather ferocious critters are visiting here ...

Deciding that a loud woman wasn't very nice to have to listen to when a severe hangover was starting to announce itself my Johnny walked mumbling to himself - and pouting probably - through the wood behind our little house to get over to visit our friends Lulu and Dina and complain his sweet little head off (awful expression by the way, come to think of it -O* ) about me perfectly certain that they would agree with all he said.
Later he admitted though that he knew that they would of course have done no such thing.
That Dina would have told him to grow up and go home and make peace with me since he was a male version of a hen mother when he wasn't in this mood.
And Lulu would even force him - she is a formidable woman - and follow him all the way home to me if she thought there was the slightest chance we could stop fighting long enough to remember that we love each other.
At the moment though Johnny was still mad and kicked at the leaves and the little stones on the path like it were their fault the whole thing. But after a while he stopped a bit confused. Hadn't he gone too far down the path - he was suppose to turn to the right at Longlake, wasn't he?
But where was that ...
The wood looked very differently in the cold autumn night with only the full moon to light his way.
As he turned to look behind him he noticed three things though;
One; that he had indeed gone too far and should have turn to his right at the lightning struck elm tree further back.
Two; that the sun was starting to make the sky rose coloured in the horizon and ...
Three; that two .. creatures were stalking him.
Two creatures slinked along like two strange gigantic black shining dinosaurs of the T-Rex variation, that is. But as they got close to the totally amazed Johnny he suddenly recognized them as the Alien. Or rather two of that ferocious race.
Finally Johnnys brain got in gear and he decided it might be quite prudent to run and the faster the better. Being a hero might win you medals, money, fame and glory but it might as well mean you get eaten for breakfast just because you were too stupid to stay home and say "Sorry, Meeps" or something to that effect ...
So he ran!
All he could. But unfortunately these creatures from some Hollywood author's worst nightmare can cover quite a lot of ground when they want.
And man do not see that well in a mixture of moonlight and the grey light of an autumn sunrise which slowed the poor guy down too. So Johnny was beginning to at least imagine he could feel their hot breath at the back of his neck when he suddenly saw a road in front of him and a car coming towards him too.
Not hoping too much - since no sensible driver would stop if he saw the two predators pursuing Johnny - he ran out in front of the car and waved his arms in the air thinking at the last moment "Oh, no ... The driver can't see me. I'm going to get run over and then the Aliens will have their morning meal carved up nicely and served on a platter. Oh, why didn't I just stay at home and have a nice cosy fight with that silly sweet little chicken of mine and - huh?"
At the very last moment the car swerved and almost hit Johnny. He actually fell over because of the wind generated by the speeding car. But all that happened to him was that he landed heavily on the tarmac and hurt his butt where as the Alien running in front howled in surprise and pain when the car hit its legs with great speed.
Almost before the car had stopped totally both door flew open and two woman got out. The smaller one ran to Johnny's side and said while grabbing his arm "Come on! On your feet if you can, man! I dont know if Lulu - Johnny? Is it you, sweetie ... Anyway - the faster we get into the car the sooner Lulu can stop fighting them! So could you please hurry!"
So Johnny hurried. Limping along leaning on Dina he thought for a moment that it was probably a bit unworthy for a grown man to have a woman fight for him but knew very well from previous experiences that Lulu for one thing almost always prefers to fight alone and for another considers Johnny a lover not a fighter and would just think he was in the way.
He could see in the light from the car that she was holding the not injured Alien at bay with a long stick she was swinging around. At first he wondered where she had gotten that in the middle of the night - and the middle of the wood too - but then realized it was a small tree she had grabbed and used as a quarter staff.
The moment Johnny was safely at the backseat Dina hurled herself in on the front passenger seat and yelled "We're in, honey!" and Lulu ended the fight abruptly by jamming the root end of the small tree into the belly of the Alien making it fold with a loud "Umph!"
Where upon she threw herself in behind the wheel immediately making the car go down the road before Johnny could evne manage to say "Are you O.K. Lulu?"
"Sure" she smiled after a moment looking up at him in the rear view mirror and moving her hair away from her eyes with a hand. Then she added in a serious tone "But what the .. are you doing out here in the middle of the night being chased by those two ... And what were they doing here? They are suppose to be back at their mother planet!"
Then she suddenly slammed the breaks of the car so Dina squealed in surprise and almost flew out of the safety belt she had just put on. Johnny was fortunately almost laying down on the back seat but even so he felt his body almost fly forward.
He started to complain about the way she drove when Lulu turned the car around in a pretty dangerous way so he instead yelled "Why are you going back! They are still out there, woman!"
"So is Meeps, you silly little ..." Lulu roared and sped on.
A moment Johnny didn't understand but then he hurriedly tried to calmed the two woman by explaining that he had been alone in the wood. And that I was safely at home in our little house. Probably planning how I would mistreat him even more when he finally had the guts to show his face at the door again, he ended a tad bitter.
"Nonsense!" Dina said "Meeps adores every bit of you all she can. If you would just smile and be sweet you could get away with murder around her. ... or almost. She would in my opinion be ready to murder herself just to see you smile!"
"THAT makes no sense, Dina! She wouldn't be able to see him smile if she was dead, now would she?" Lulu said. Then stopped the car as suddenly as before and for once just sat there staring in front of the car looking quite astounded
Dina grumbled something about catching her death by whip lash but then her jaw sank down too.
So Johnny still laying on the backseat decided he better get up and see what could make two so well travelled and experienced ladies gawk. But when he did he had to swallow and rub his eyes a couple of times because ...
... because there at the side of the road stood his normally so timid little chicken talking quite calmly to the Alien .................
